Sharon Stone is being sued by a woman for thousands of dollars for an alleged car crash she caused in Los Angeles last year.

The actress, best known for her role as Catherine Tramell in the 1992 movie Basic Instincts, has been accused of causing a car crash that injured Amanda Godepski.

Godepski filed a motor vehicle complaint with the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, April 24, according to documents obtained by People Magazine.

She accused Stone of high-speed driving and making 'unsafe' car maneuvers that caused her to crash.

The woman claimed she was left with property damage and personal injury, and that the damages exceeded $35,000.

The incident allegedly happened on June 30, 2023, in Los Angeles, near the U.S. Route 101 freeway off-ramp at Coldwater Canyon Avenue, according to court filings.

According to Gosepksi, Stone was 'negligently owning, operating, driving, managing and maintaining a vehicle.'

The filing further reads: 'Defendant Sharon Vonne Stone caused the collision by driving too fast for traffic conditions and making an unsafe turning movement into plaintiff's lane of travel and colliding into plaintiff's vehicle.'

Stone's conduct infringed upon at least three California vehicle regulations, including driving too fast for the traffic, making hazardous turns, and changing lanes, per court documents.

In summary, the Los Angeles woman is suing Stone for 'wage loss,' 'property damage,' 'general damage' and 'loss of earning capacity.' She is also claiming her trip to the hospital caused her 'emotional distress,' 'economic damage' and 'non-economic damage.'

Stone has not yet responded to the lawsuit.

This is not the first time Stone has found herself in legal trouble.

In 2012, Stone was sued by her former nanny for allegedly violating labor laws and making derogatory comments about her ethnicity.

Erlinda Elemen was fired by the star in February 2011, after Stone reportedly discovered she had wrongly been paid overtime, and Elemen alleges Sharon made a number of disparaging comments about Filipinos, including calling them 'stupid people'.

They had reached a settlement in 2013.

Stone, a mother of three, has taken a step back from Hollywood in recent years, and has instead turned her attention to her art, which has been showcased at galleries across the country.
